The courts have set a date for Saddam to be put on trial for war crimes, and crimes against humanity. They expect it to begin in October of this year, but I don't know if that is soon enough for some people? True he butcherd, tortured, and terrorized his own country, and it's also probably true that he showed arrogance when he was caught and put in that prison cell, an armed guard placed out front; he must have had a hard time taking in all that's happened to him in the last few years, to go from wealth and absolute power and even relating himself to "every sip of milk his people drink" is to say the least "Stupid" but that's what these dictators always say when they suddenly have to face man's law. They can't believe it, wont believe it, even demand things that would have gotten someone killed had it not been done in a timely manner, but then they face the judge(s) and slowly but surely they awake from the dream-state and only then do the voices of all the people they hurt come rushing in like water at them, constantly driving them mad, echoing in their perfect ears...... And still there are those that are so fanatical, they refuse to believe that the worls they helped create has fallen down around them, take a quote from one of the most magnificant Bullshit Artists the world has ever known:
"It is the absolute right of the State to
supervise the formation of public opinion."
- Joseph Goebbels, Propaganda Minister
of Third Reich.
Now to me that's complete bullshit, after all a government needs feedback, comments and questions otherwise you have whats called an Autocracy. He helped create the hate that projected itself across Europe, and was adament about the possibilty of wiping out an entire race of people, little do we know that he in fact took a Jewish girl and made her his wife.... Fucking Hypocrites, MURDERING BASTARDS!!!
Anyways, Saddam is the same way, he wanted to achieve perfection by wiping out the Kurdish population in Northern Iraq, even using gas to wipe out some 250 villiages one of them the villiage of Koreme, known as the Anfal Campaign in 1988 it wasent the last time they would be attacked by the Iraqi Army.
An example of what was done in response:
